Day 0: One Week

One week from today I'll once again be touching down at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince. Needless to say, I'm excited. Just jumped off a quick Skype call with my close friend Paddy, who arrived in Haiti two days ago, to touch base on the biosand filter project we're both going back to work on. We didn't get into any specifics, as we both want to be on the ground before we dig into the details, but the excitement and desire to see the project take off is definitely present in both of us. Unlike the first time around, I'm going back with a working knowledge of the place, and a very clear focus on what it is I'm going there to do. If Haiti Round One was jumping in the deep end to test if I could swim, Haiti Round Two is about seeing just how fast and far I can go, now that I know I can.

Ready to roll, with my home for the next year behind me.
